Ogg Vorbis to MP3 conversion software?

Asked by VoodooLogic (729points) April 14th, 2008

Anybody know if I lose sound quality by converting my Ogg Vorbis to MP3? I think I can just use Audacity but if I lose quality I might as well re-rip my CDs to FLAC. Advice?

Yes, you lose quality, as they are both “lossy” formats (i.e. they throw away data to make it smaller). If you can re-rip your CD’s then that’s probably the best option, though I suppose you could put up with the loss in quality.
