Can you help me find the original lyrics for I Ka Barra?

I have only been able to find very conflicting results for an English translation of the song by Habib Koite & Bamada .. and all of them seem to translate the song very differently from one another…. I have reason to think it may be in an Arabic language though the Mali language or Senegalese language would make more sense to me… Hope someone can help on this as I have searched :-)

Here it is untranslated. I am not able to translate Arabic, so I can’t even guess how accurate the translation is, but here is English of the song.

I found those lyrics also and in no way do they match the song as played… either from the site that the link is directed to or from the one copy I have as well… Not sure where else to look…

You would think we would have at least one Jelly capable of rendering an accurate translation. Of course, translating song lyrics so they not only retain their original language meaning (which can be colored by the tone and tenor of singing, but are poetic and singable in the second language, is an extremely demanding form of translation. It is an art form in its own right.
