Crunchy or Creamy Peanut Butter?

Asked by CBrennan15 (353points) February 14th, 2011

It’s a toss-up, but I think creamy wins, the biggest reason being crunchy is MUCH harder to spread.

The crunchier, the better. Just spread it on that bread, add a touch of salt, and enjoy!

Crunchy for sure. Love the taste, love the texture!

Crunchy for cookies, creamy for sandwiches.

Natural, Stir-Before-Use, Crunchy for me, please

Creamy. Crunchy has no purpose. If I want to eat peanuts, I’ll eat peanuts.

Yes, crunchy. Anyone who likes creamy is wrong. Perhaps a therapist or a priest could set you on the true path.

Yummy crunchy! It goes great with banana peanut butter sandwiches.

I agree with jonsblond, crunchy definitely for cookies.

I’m surprised there are so many ‘crunchy’ fans, when creamy is so clearly superior.

Crunchy! On seven-grain toast!

I prefer crunhy for peanut butter soup or curry. Smooth is better for sandwiches.

Crunchy! The nuttier the better. To me it enhances the taste of the peanut butter.

Creamy! Crunchy has its uses, though. The occasional craving, some types of candy and a particular PB cookie recipe.

Creamy – crunchy gets in my teeth and is difficult to get out.

@WestRiverrat I’ve never heard of peanut butter soup. Sounds interesting. I have added a tablespoon of crunchy pb and a dash of sriracha to ramen noodles. Not a bad combination.

Creamy with honey.

Looks like crunchy peanut butter wins 3 to 1.

On a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, crunchy peanut butter is a turnoff.

Both ways are great – (like women.)

Creamy. Seeing the undigested peanuts in my poop is gross.

BarnacleBill's avatar

Crunchy. It does taste different than creamy.

Crunchy fer sure. It’s good in sauces, in a sandwich, on celery, or even on a spoon!
