Why are my answers being sucked into a black hole?

Asked by coffeenut (6171points) February 16th, 2011

Every time I answer a question…then the question is modded…then I guess abandoned….

My answer disappears from my “Answer List” in my profile….

Anyone know why does it does that?

Modded answer = removed = doesn’t exist anymore. Why would it show up on your answer list if it no longer exists?

coffeenut's avatar

@FutureMemory not modded answers… Modded questions I answered…so even if the question was removed why would my answer to the question go as well…?

so even if the question was removed why would my answer to the question go as well…?

How can an answer exist to a question that doesn’t ‘exist’? It wouldn’t make sense to leave them up.

@FutureMemory….it makes as much sense as leaving answers I posted 2+ years ago up…?

Actually the question and answers are usually still visible.

To avoid this happening resist the temptation to respond on questions with lots of typos or that do not meet guidelines.

Lurve should not be a factor when asking/answering questions…. It shouldn’t matter if you get it…or….you don’t get it… when it starts to matter if you don’t get it…...It’s time for a Fluther vacation… I give it when…

Dog’s comment aside,

@coffeenut I’d love to hear how it makes sense to have an answer listed to a non-existent question. I’m not talking about preserving the effort you put in to your response – that does indeed suck to lose without warning.

An answer cannot logically ‘exist’ without a question.

@FutureMemory It’s not in my Answer section….BUT…is in my Lurve section (with the answer)....???

They are removed from profiles because the question has been removed from public view. The only way to see it is if you know the URL.

It still remains in your Lurve because the Fluthergods are not so cruel as to remove Lurve because a question did not meet standards or needed to be fixed.

I think the most subtle form is when the “race” actively looks for things to be offended by so they can use the “racism card” for whatever reason…. @janbb lol…how…

two of the contributers to that question got Great Answers from me, even though the question was being edited. They got the points, and I got a 15 seconds of fame wall post. I am assuming the new jellies will not lose those points.
