How does Fluther make money?

Fluther is a successful start-up company and it looks like they are constantly improving features, but how does the Fluther team deligate cash flow. Where is the money coming from?

@glial , just ads,? google ads? how much m can fluther earn a month just ads? nobody will click that ads

@stephen – Ok, might want to keep that little secret to yourself.

Online advertising is a Multi- Billion Dollar per year business. Why do you think Google trades at over $400 per share? They aren’t earning money from search or Gmail. They make money through adwords and payout through adsense.

People do click ads. But you don’t have to click the ad for the publisher to earn money. CPM or cost per 1000 impressions. For every 1000 times an add is displayed the publisher (site owner) gets paid.

@Vincentt – Why would venture capitalists invest if there is no revenue? VC is an investment not a gift.

@glial – well, perhaps the Fluther guys had an excellent business plan. Besides, I suppose they also need startup costs, and ads can’t cover those as long there is nothing to place the ads on or as long as Fluther is not popular yet.
