Is anyone here going to The Mars Volta show in Chicago on sunday?

I’ve been trying to see them in los angeles, but they never play anywhere accessible, and tickets to their shows are usually overpriced. I really want to see them live.

Yeah the tickets were high, I don’t mind as long as they do a good show. This’ll be my first time and I’ve heard they can get too self indulgent. So here’s hoping.

have you seen Clutch? By far the greatest live band I have ever seen.

No, I haven’t. But, I’ll have to check them out. I’m always up for new music.

What happened with their new album? I heard that it was coming out but I haven’t heard anything off of it? Is it any good?

It came out, January 29th. It’s really great. Way better than Amputechture. I’m able to enjoy it, but if you’re not a die hard fan, than it may take some work to get into. But, I’d say it’s pretty straightforward. It’s got more of a funk sound to it this time around. I defiintely recommend checking it out.
