I appreciate every bit of lurve I get and obviously hope every question and answer I post will be considered great (except those that are more for comedy-value), but wouldn’t ask for it because then it decreases the value, ie its not genuine

i apreciate it, sometimes i also feel a bit…neglected, if i give the perfect anwser and don’t get lurve, i mean, it’s not about the points, it’s about the appreciation

@ iwamoto- I know how you feel…

But yeah, I lurve receiving lurve.

My heart is all a-fluther (corny, I know, sorry) when I see my points go up.

what is lurve?

Bsilver's avatar

@ hollister- “baby don’t hurt me, don’t hurt me, no more”

Seriously though… www.fluther.com/lurve

Three ;-)

I’m curious though: if someone admitted here he’s gaming the system, would that result in a ban?
And no, I’m not asking because I’m gaming the system ;-)

I honestly dont care, even though it can make me a bit happy, but I’ve noticed my fellow flutherer’s dont really give out much lurving, and I see some pretty amazing answers un-lurved.
((Edit: I just gave everyone some lurve right now! Yay))

I decided to count up the lurve I got because I saw new ones but my score didn’t increase – and it was a slow day at the office – and as I thought, it doesn’t add up….is there a delay or is it just hit-and-miss which lurve increases your score?

I’ve wondered about this too. I don’t personally care about my total overall points but it is nice to see that someone thought my answer might have been helpful or appreciated. It’s also nice to let someone know that they’ve just asked asked a question that I thought was cool, or I’ve been wondering about, like this one!

TheHaight's avatar

@wildflower: its always added automatically up for me. And you can also see which posts you got the lurve. Well, not on the iPhone, but on the computer.

wildflower's avatar

I’ve had 2–4 recent ones that didn’t increase the score – still like to see that people appreciate my jibberish, so its cool :)

Bsilver's avatar

@thehaight- I’m on the iPhone, and I can see my lurve page just fine, just follow the link I posted earlier.

I’m sure not!

TheHaight's avatar

@bsilver: cool! Thanks. Just went there right now.

I agree with what iwa said.
@wildflower- this has happened to me numerous times. I should be at like 1500 (maybe not that much)

wildflower's avatar

oh well…
btw would be cool to see who dished out the lurve.

Vincentt's avatar

Wildflower, people can only give other Flutherers that much lurve. Once the limit is reached, new “Great Answer/Question“s don’t add up to the total anymore.

peedub's avatar

@wild- Yes, I agree.

wildflower's avatar

@vincent
is that per day? Otherwise I think I’m a good bit away from that….

peedub's avatar

Total. It’s happened to me already.

Vincentt's avatar

In total, but I’m no expert. I recall johnpowell mentioning a limit of 300.

wildflower's avatar

didn’t see that in the about section. Maybe its like Brian May said: Too much lurve will kill you?

peedub's avatar

I don’t think it’s stated

iwamoto's avatar

2 days, already 140 points, im in the zone!

Vincentt's avatar

iwamoto, that’s 300 points from one user :)
(Otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to get above 300 wouldn’t I? :)

jrpowell's avatar

Like I said. I don’t the exact number. I just used 300 for an example. I think the number is much lower.

maybe old man fluther will be able to clear it up for us?
