What unpublished book do you want to read the most?

Asked by everephebe (11611points) March 1st, 2011

It could be the next book your favorite author is writing, the yet to be published books of someone no longer living or a future project for an author you admire. Fiction or Non-Fiction, any genre- what are you looking forward to reading when it’s published.

I’m looking forward to any J.D. Salinger works that are finally released within my lifetime. The Last and Best of the Peter Pans hell yes. Also the final book in the Wheel of Time series.

Jane Austen’s seventh novel!

Maybe this one would be better as a picture book “Fran and Maxwell: Gettin’ Frisky on the Nanny” by Fran Drescher and Charles Shaugnessy.

But for reals (not that the above idea is not good, I just think I might be the only taker) I would love to read Amy Tan’s next novel.

Or something by Arthur Golden (Memoirs of a Geisha)

Or anything by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle or Charles Dickens.

Do comics count…? If yes, I’m looking forward to seeing the final issue of Lackluster World by Eric Adams!
I’m also looking forward to Cormac McCarthy’s next novel.

Dean Young’s Fall Higher. It’s the next collection from my favorite living poet, and I’ve almost memorized the last one. It’s time for something new.

I want you to read my bestselling memoir about my life as a street musician :) Hopefully it’ll be in print by 2016.

The fifth book of the “Power of Five” series by Anthony Horowitz. Yes I know they’re kids books but they’re really good (thinly disguised Cthulhu Mythos). But it’s already been 3 years since book 4 was published and he’s been writing other things since then, so I suspect the project has been shelved or scrapped.

The book based on my thesis. If only I could get off Fluther long enough to write the book proposal…

I really would like George R. R. Martin’s remaining books in the “A Song of Ice and Fire” series to be complete and published so that I can read them. That being said, I am willing to be patient for this author. His work is worth waiting for.
