Where can I find a necklace pendant to put cremated remains in?

Asked by Taciturnu (6045points) March 5th, 2011

It may sound strange, but I would like to find one. Do I need to see a jeweler to have one specially made or does someone out there know where I could find one?

Simple styling in gold would be best.

Hope this helps. You can also check with funeral homes which provide cremations and cemeteries as they sometimes have catalogs of stuff.

I cannot vouch for quality, but here are some links for online shopping… http://www.perfectmemorials.com/

I saw an article in the recent edition of the Costco Connection (available at Costco, free, and also mailed to Costco subscribers) that was about an artist who makes glass jewelry with the ashes in it. You mail her about a tablespoon of the ashes, and she blows glass with the ashes in it. The one they showed in the photo was a heart shape. It’s something different.

This is far from strange.
Most funeral parlor have a variety of ones that they work with as well.

I agree with @blueiiznh in that most of the time, if you are offered a catalog by the funeral home, they will include such necklaces. If you aren’t able to find one that you like online, perhaps you could call and request a catalog? If not, a search for cremation jewelry or memorial jewelry might be helpful.

Our funeral home sells pendants for that purpose so I guess it’s commonplace now.

Thanks all. I was unaware there was such a thing as “cremation jewelry.”
