How can I get involved with helping the people in Japan?

Asked by Sunshine1245_1190 (144points) March 11th, 2011

So, you all know what has happened today in Japan. I am only 15 and I don’t have any money to donate to help. But I still would like to help. Any ideas on how I can help? I was thinking of setting up a program at my school and church or in the community, to collect items for care packages I just don’t know how to set all that up? please any ideas?

Call your local chapter of the American Red Cross for volunteer opportunities or where to make a donation. The RC is premiere in it’s efforts and has a long and distinguished history of aiding those in wartime and natural disaster relief.

Money is not an issue right now. What the people probably need most are helicopters. Too many roads are full of rubble. Grocery stores are running out of bottled water.
