Do you kiss with your eyes open or close? Should it matter to your S/O?

Asked by AmWiser (14947points) March 18th, 2011

Aside from the daily good morning and good night kiss, my husband will probably kiss me some 10–20 times a day. It’s all well and good, they’re short pecks in passing or just because. Now the other day when he was in one of his moods (not a good one), he insinuated something wasn’t right because I close my eyes when he kisses me. I know that I have always closed my eyes when kissing and now I’m wondering where he has been.:-). We will be discussing the issue when I know his mood is better.

So Jellies, do you kiss with your eyes open or closed? Should it matter to your S/O? Would you change the eyes open/closed for your S/O?
Sheese! Does anybody even kiss that many times a day?

It depends on what kiss is! Sometimes I closely eyes I guess in a more passionate moment but other times it is more appropriate ti keep them open so there are no bumped noses! I must admit though it is a little unnerving to close your eyes then open them to.see your partner staring back at you!

For short kisses: eyes open. For passionate ones: eyes closed.

I like to stare straight ahead like a rabid badger. ;)

This is one of those things where the heart wants what the heart wants. Do it his way some of the time, and don’t castrate him for speaking his mind. Maybe you have something you’d like him to do differently now and then. Tell him

Open your eyes. Who knows what you’ll see.

Well id say if your having a full on snogathon with someone the first time u meet them….and they keep their eyes open…its only going to end in trouble (from.my experience anyway) Ive always found it more personal abd meaningful with eyes closed…shows your making an effort i suppose…even if it is just a long blink

Eyes closed, most definitely

Eyes closed. My lashes just naturally flutter closed so I can concentrate on the kiss.

Closed. It’s reflexive, like closing your eyes when you sneeze.

if I kiss someone with a peck, like a “hello” kiss, it will be with eyes open.

Make out kiss, closed. I like the feeling of getting lost in the kiss.

I don’t think there are rules but for me for a real kiss, I think the intensity is increased if your eyes are closed. I kissmy SO with my eyes closed.

After much empirical testing today, I find that my wife and I always kiss with our eyes closed.

@SavoirFaire was this recent testing? Inquiring minds want to know.

Both. If it’s a quick hello or goodbye kiss I tend to keep my eyes open. If it’s a proper smooch then I usually shut them (although I do find it quite sexy to keep them open from time to time). My fella tends to shut his all the time I have noticed.

I can’t think of why it would bother your husband that you shut your eyes. I thought that was pretty much the norm! My boyfriend and I have never discussed what we should be doing with our eyes when we kiss so I can only assume that it doesn’t matter to either of us what the other does.

One eye open just in case. ;)

@Leanne1986 I really don’t think it so much bothers him that I shut my eyes, I think it’s his mood swings he goes through sometimes. That’s another story;).
@Cruiser umm! I think I’ll try that.:D

@tranquilsea I run this test as many times a day as I can. No such thing as too much data, after all!

Closed. The few times I’ve sneaked peeks, it just creeps me out!

Now I’m wondering if I always keep them closed while kissing during sex. I don’t think I do, but there’s so much else going on and we usually have the lights out ;)
