Does anyone watch the British version of the TV show Skins?

Asked by Ladymia69 (6881points) March 24th, 2011

…and if so, discuss it. Any season. Any episode. Any character.

Flutherers who try to piss on my party and/or say sarcastic things about and/or debase, disparage or belittle this post will be flagged and ignored. And will not be given any sandwiches for a month.

Love ya!

I watched the first one and is the exact way as the American, same scenes, same characters, different accents. And I liked both of them, but I also watched the second episode of the American one, and I did liked it but not enough to hold my interest for the series. Where’s my sandwich?

I looooooooooooove Skins! The British version of course. Season 1 is my favourite and i love Cassie! She’s so eccentric i love it. Then they aired the American version of it and it wasn’t the same….

I love it! I preferred the last two series to the first two and I’m not loving this new series as much (the acting makes me cringe a bit, hopefully it will improve though). I loved Panda and the twins from the last series.

I definitely am ambivalent about the new cast…the writing just isn’t up to par. So I am rewatching seasons 1–4. Looking forward to the movie which should come out this year sometime and will involve mostly the second generation. Long live Naomily!

@novemberrain I am a big fan of Cassie as well. She is like a mischievous faery whose wrath is devastating. And as far as the 1st generation, she and Chris take the cake as my favorite characters. Chris broke my heart when he passed.

Second generation…loved it, but Effy was terribly annoying with her weird neediness.

@ladymia69 Yay for Naomily!

I watched the first series and loved it, was a little disappointed with the second series and gave up watching half way through the third series. Brought back good memories of my own mis-spent youth.

The first series was so fresh and tightly scripted. I loved every character by the time it wrapped (even Tony). I could watch Maxxie dance all day, I cried for Chris, rooted for Sid & Cassie…

The music is used perfectly to punctuate the drama. My favorite, this is my city

@Blueroses You are so right. I am highly disappointed with the newest season. the first was the best.
