What do these symptoms sound like to you?

Asked by sunssi (120points) March 28th, 2011

So I just couldn’t get to sleep last night not because I felt ill, I didn’t feel ill at all I just found it hard to.

I then got a high fever, phlegmy throat, felt sick but wasn’t, aching muscles, by 3:00pm I was feeling much better.

I did drink two days in a row and I remember feeling the same after drinking two days in a row another time.

The only reason I’m asking is because my friend freaked me out, I’m going to the glum clinic tomorrow because he said it sounds like PHI Acute HIV infection.

I’ve been safe apart from this one time were this person just put it in three times, never came and I didn’t bleed and that was a few weeks ago.

Try not to listen to such friends, or pay too much credence to them anyway.

I know how you feel, though. There was a time in my life when every headache was a suspected brain tumor, every cut was likely to be gangrenous, and every cough was either pneumonia or lung cancer. Once it actually was pneumonia, which I found out after suffering for a couple of weeks.

But let things take their course. If you have a fever for three days, for example, then see a doctor. Otherwise keep this in mind: When you hear hoofbeats, think horses, and not zebras – and don’t think about unicorns at all.

I’m not sure why I even asked this as no matter what is said here I will feel I have to get checked out tomorrow, I just want my mind put at rest. :s

As I always tell my friend who thinks she has every disease or infection there is, just go get tested. Don’t worry until you get those results back from the doctor because there is nothing you can do either way. 99% of the time she is wrong about everything she is worried about and her mind is worried about nothing. When you get something in your mind that you have particular symtoms they will manifest because your brain will make them happen.

FYI The great side of things is there are treatments these days for HIV, though no one wants it. At least its not a death sentence like it was before.

Get checked out just in case, but it sounds like a flu to me.

That sounds like the flu. I’d get tested anyway, because it’s a good idea to be tested after having unprotected sex, but I really doubt you have HIV.
