What kind of snake is this?

I live in East Texas and found a tiny snake in my house. My dad thinks it’s a copperhead, but it doesn’t seem like it according to pictures on the internet. We have many copperheads in our woods and our dogs have run into them quite a few times, but they were adults. It’s a dark brown with a kind of bronze tint to it and a golden brownish-bronze head. That is my best description. Sorry I don’t have a picture, my camera isn’t working right. If you have any questions I’ll be glad to answer!

(If you know what it is, can you please try to find a website containing it? It’s okay if you don’t, my dad would just rather see it on a website. Don’t ask me why I have no idea.)
