Do you go crazy without intimacy?

By intimacy, I mean both emotional and physical intimacy. I mean a deep connection with someone where the love is mutually reinforcing. People might be without it because they never had it, ever, or because they broke up a relationship, or because they are in a relationship, but it doesn’t include intimacy.

There are professional celibates and amateur celibates. There are willing celibates and unwilling ones.

I know that the professionals do have problems, and some have forbidden relationships and some get involved with children, and some are able to cope somehow.

The unwilling celibates might have to go a long time before they find a relationship where they feel safe being truly intimate. They might seek it desperately, and end up connecting with a lot of people who really aren’t into connection.

I suppose it is easier for some people to cope than others. Can you cope easily without intimacy? How do you cope? Do you go crazy without it? What affect does that have on your life? What factors in you life enabled you to go without intimacy for a long time? Or what factors helped form your inability to cope with a lack of intimacy?
