Where can I find academic literature about Twitter and Online Profiles?

I am beginning to do research about Twitter profiles and how they relate to our own identities. I have been having some trouble finding academic literature about the subject. Most of it focuses instead on blogs, Web 2.0 and YouTube. While these are important, I would love to see literature that instead focuses on how identities are created through things like Twitter, Facebook and Foursquare.

While not academic, this is a start. You are probably going to find information tied to “personal branding”. Check out Media Post; they have been running a lot of articles on personal brand lately. This is a relatively new topic, so there might not be much available in scholarly publications. However, a screen name relates closely to pen names.
