Was George Carlin influenced by Charles Bukowski?

Asked by 4ork (13points) May 2nd, 2011

They both seem to have a similar world view. Does anyone know if Carlin ever mentioned Bukowski as an influence (or vice versa)?

I couldn’t find anything concerning Bukowski but according to a mini-bio he was influenced by:

Danny Kaye, Jonathan Winters, Richard Pryor, Jerry Lewis, Marx Brothers, Mort Sahl, Spike Jones, Ernie Kovacs, Ritz Brothers, Monty Python and especially Lenny Bruce..

In his book “Last Words,” his biggest influence was said to be Lenny Bruce.

I’m a massive Carlin fan, and I never heard him say that. Thats not to say he was not.

Nevertheless, they are so similar to me. Like brothers. Don’t you think?
