How old are you?

You could try to score a sewing machine and make some of your own clothes.

I got in to making bombs out of household stuff and smoking weed. I should have got a sewing machine instead.

@johnpowell Heh. That made me giggle.

Maybe you guys could go out into town with cameras and take some pictures.

I like to do this to my friends and we have our own album of weird looking people in public.

Do you like sports? What about learning another language?

Thank you for reaching out and asking about additional things to do to keep you all occupied. It sounds as if you all are looking for something that might be more stimulating and provide a bit of variety. It’s really a matter of tapping into what interests you and pursuing it.

Do some volunteer work. At your age, I was in a community relations group, and we adopted a grandparent at a nursing home and went to visit them every week. It became like having an additional grandparent. We loved to hear their stories and bring them treats.

If you like animals, do some volunteer work at the local animal shelter. We walked dogs, bathed pets, etc.

Join a club. Be it something offered at school or outside, it is just a matter of tapping into what interests you. If one doesn’t exist, start your own.

What are you and your friend interested in?

I like making knives (not in a crazy way, in a hobby way). Take up knifesmithing.

You could take up a sport like basketball or something like that, it’s best to learn while you’re young because if you don’t know how to play the sport by the time you’re twenty no-one will want you on their team. I’m learning how to ride a horse these days, it’s fun, especially cantering (running). Don’t start spending loads of time on the internet anyway, that’s a waste of time and not a good thing to be doing at your age.

Can you join clubs at school that would meet after school? I helped build the sets for the school plays in high school.

There are craft projects you can find online, in books or in kits at the store (like Michael’s or Hobby Lobby). Make gifts for birthdays or holidays, or end of the year gifts for your teachers. You could experiment with different projects- along with what was mentioned above, there’s also plastic canvas, embroidery, cross-stitching, loom-knittng.
Another place to volunteer is at daycares- they might allow you to read books to little ones or help with cleanup. Boredom doesn’t exist at daycares.
Photography was mentioned above- you could play around with Photoshop and see what you and your friends can come up with, or get a simple handheld camcorder (Flip, iPhone or even a regular camera with a video feature) and make a movie, using MovieMaker or iMovie to edit.
Good luck and have fun! Biology has proven what you do for the next 10 years will affect your brain cells for the rest of your life, so be adventurous with your learning experiences!
