Does anyone still use 35mm film camaras or are they obsolete?

Remember when you had to take pictures then take the film to the photolab to get them devoloped? You had to wait until the pictures where developed to see how they turned out. Does anyone still use 35mm film anymore?

My ex-husband does, all the time.

I do. I love using actual film and getting the pictures developed. I use color film and black & white film and don’t plan to stop unless they stop selling it.

I still do some black and white with 35 mm film. Most film I use now is large format-4×5
I enjoy developing and printing the occasional negative in the darkroom.

Still have my Nikon FM 10 and uses it though not often enough. There’s something about digital cams that for me isn’t genuine photography. It’s manipulating light and chemicals on film not pixels.

@mazingerz88 Not that you asked, but I still have an old Linhoff Master Technika that I bought at a used photo equipment shop about 15 years ago. It was beat to shit, but the bellows was good. I polished it up, and put new leather on it and it is a hoot and half to take photographs with. And I still love to develope and print 4×5 negatives.

@josie ok I’m officially “developed” with envy! I want to but too lazy to shoot anything right now. Years ago I almost bought a second hand Bolex(?) 16 mm camera and shoot anything. Any chance your photos on the Internet?

From time to time we do.

I do! I took a photography class last year that was all 35 mm that we processed and developed ourselves in the darkroom. I loved it, but unfortunately my dad’s old Pentax is busted beyond repair. But I bought a digital SLR and use it on Manual mode. Although I don’t bring the film in, I do choose my own light settings.

They’re starting to be obsolete. One of the 2 Walmarts in the next town no longer processes film.
