If you could wear any costume from a movie, which would you pick?

Asked by ucme (50047points) May 11th, 2011

From any movie at all, a period costume or a military uniform. Maybe even a superhero get up, it really is up to you. The world is your oyster, well….maybe the wardrobe is. So yeah, a specific outfit seen in a movie that you would just love to try on, even if it’s only the one time. Alternatively of course you could always steal….buy it! For the record, i’d love to own a cowboy outfit, particularly the holster belt swung round my hips, ooh that feels good! Also, I love military jackets so I want any of these babies! Hussar!!

I always liked Venom’s (Spiderman) outfit. Or just a pin striped three piece suit like mobsters wear.

Probably one of the dresses from Marie Antoinette. The clothing in that movie was so incredible.

Tarzan’s loin cloth…washed first of course!

Maybe one of those numbers with a lot of leather and steel from a fantasy movie. Something functional and badass. I’ve been admiring some of the armor worn by characters in the series Game of Thrones.

any of these would do, as long as I could fly along in Serenity….

(but in actual fact, I’d be a doctor of some description, probably not medical, and trying to solve the mysteries of their universe.)

Lord Humongous from The Road Warrior had a pretty bad ass outfit.

Any one of these British 24th Regiment costumes from Zulu Dawn.

Michael Keaton’s Batman suit. Saw it once on display at Warner Bros. museum and I wanted to break the glass, put it on and then grab my friend by his collar, picking him up and say, “Did you ever danced with the Devil in the pale moonlight?”

@Fiddle_Playing_Creole_Bastard Yeah i’d like one of those too. Check out the range of Hussar jackets in my link. I’ve always wanted one, big price to pay though.

I would like to try those super-fancy gowns that the women wore in “The Tudors.”

Any glamorous 40’s style evening gown.
Beaded and backless, with that ultra low slung back that shows off a womans sexy lower back curve! Oooh yes!

erichw1504's avatar

The Joker from The Dark Knight. The purple suit would really bring out my eyes.

@marinelife Are you familiar with her skit?

Either this from the wonderful Sweeney Todd or this beautiful gown from Labyrinth. :)

Omg,there are way too many cool dresses from historical movies that I want to try on! Like something from The Duchess or Marie Antoinette. Or anything from the Tudor period… GAH!!!

Then there’s the Star Wars (Padme had some really cool shit) and LOTR… GAHHHH!!!

erichw1504's avatar

Princess Leia’s metal bikini.

marinelife's avatar

@Adirondackwannabe You mean this? “I saw it in the window and I just couldn’t resist it.”

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

@marinelife Yes. I thought that was one of her best. Especially the curtain rod still attached.

Sunny2's avatar

Liz Taylor’s Cleopatra dress. . . and makeup. And I want a costume party to go to.

erichw1504's avatar

The Joel Schumacher Robin costume, nipples intact.

etignotasanimum's avatar

Kiera Knightly’s dress in Atonement, Olivia Newton John’s number in Grease (John Travolta not included), or Julia Roberts’ dress in Pretty Woman.

Lol @marinelife and @Adirondackwannabe…I saw this awhile back when I was looking for the dvd’s of her show.

I’m not sure what costume I’d want ..still thinking on it.

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

@PluckyDog Curtain rod and all. Nice job.

I’d wear Indiana Jones’ little outfit. But I’d add a monocle to it.

TexasDude's avatar

@KatetheGreat, what a coincidence. That was my original answer. I own all the components to Indy’s costume aside from a Monocle and a Webley, unfortunately.

KateTheGreat's avatar

@Fiddle_Playing_Creole_Bastard Hehehe, I have the satchel and the hat. I do own a monocle though.

Brian1946's avatar

I’d like to wear and use a fully functioning Iron Man suit.

Plucky's avatar

Indiana Jones was my first thought as well ..lol.

I love this gown from Elizabeth: The Golden Age.

Scarlett Johansson’s peasant outfit in Girl with the Pearl Earrings

It reminds me of the outfit being worn in Vermeer’s Girl with the Water Jug that I posted on another thread about our favoritie paintings. I love Dutch clothing from this period.

The dress Elizabeth wears to her coronation.

ddude1116's avatar

James Dean from Rebel Without A Cause, glare and all.

Ladymia69's avatar

@ddude1116 I like that you would wear James Dean as an outfit! That is original.
