I think so, is this aimed towards me in some odd way?

gailcalled's avatar

Fluther has defined its goals in the guidelines…this way to Yahoo!...>

Hollister0221's avatar

yea I noticed the influx of youngsters.

Zack_In_Black's avatar

Did anyone see what happened lastnight? Alot of spam Just alot of nonsense.

gailcalled's avatar

Let us rejoice, Hollister, and be good role models.

Hollister0221's avatar

I mean are people hooking up on this site?

Zack_In_Black's avatar

Pray to the Lord on High that they aren’t.

Hollister0221's avatar

yea get ready to start answering Q’s like “does he love me?” “should I dump him?” “why do my parents hate me?” LOL

Zack_In_Black's avatar

Hollister, I’m homeschooled so I’m not sure what goes on at public school, but that’s what I see everyday. Disgusting.

loser's avatar

seems a bit antisocial to me

gailcalled's avatar

Or choose not to answer them. That is one good way of keeping the quality of the questions up. Hollister, I was quoting a famous line (originally in Latin – Gaudeamus igatur; dunc sumus jovenes…or something…doing this from memory. A hymn written by Martin Luther and then stolen by Brahams for his Academic Overture.)

It means, “Let us rejoice, while we are young.”

Zack_In_Black's avatar

Gailcalled, are you on a computer? You can just flag the questions.

Hollister0221's avatar

hey let’s rejoice till we die

gailcalled's avatar

@Zach- yes, and I know, having been part of the beta. I am aunt to one of the founders (and I am the smart old-fogiette here – old being the key word.

Zack_In_Black's avatar

I only got part of what you said, sorry.

peedub's avatar

I don’t know, do you think you are helping to make it such?

Zack_In_Black's avatar

This Is a social post. So if I answered for Hollister, I would say yes.

peedub's avatar

Not that I’m criticizing, just saying in light of some very recent questions combined with some topically related ones in the past…

wildflower's avatar

I discovered Fluther as a Social Networking Web App…..and a ‘Staff Pick’ at that….

peedub's avatar

@wild- good point

scamp's avatar

See me on there? It’s my fluther claim to fame!

Hollister0221's avatar

ok. But are people hooking up on here?

peedub's avatar

I don’t think so. The question was posited and as far I know, got no positive replies.

wildflower's avatar

Yaay Scamp! you’re famous :)

peedub's avatar

Oh wow, nice!

Alina1235's avatar

I wonder of that too do people hook up on here? I mean not sexually but like get togethers

peedub's avatar

I’ll mention it once again, I think we should have party/get together this summer in SF. I vote for Ocean Beach or Golden Gate Park.

Alina1235's avatar

oh man San francisco how cool would that be….... I have so many places to visit in my life time

soundedfury's avatar

It has social aspects, but it certainly isn’t a social network, nor is it becoming one.

wildflower's avatar

One of the places I always wanted to visit…...partly because of earthquakes….(yes I’m weird and I know it)
...SF that is..

Hollister0221's avatar

hey let’s meet for jazzfest in new Orleans

peedub's avatar

Damn, that would be cool, never been. When is that?

wildflower's avatar

How about Dublin next St. Paddy’s day? (see I could get there nice and easy)

Hollister0221's avatar

have to have an America trip and European trip

wildflower's avatar

Something tells me the European will be in Holland…..somehow they seem to form the majority of us on here…

Alina1235's avatar

ive been to new Orleans for mardi GRAS LOL I think that’s when alcoholism started ha ha ha

Hollister0221's avatar

well middle America is Omah….so the counting crows say

susanc's avatar

Omaha is a good art town as well as a good steak town.

I wonder if there couldn’t be a sort of flutherist hangout designated for every city -
like, in my town it would be (because I thought of it first) Batdorf and Bronson.
If you go there with a green scarf you’re a declared jelly, and others can find you and
they are allowed to say hi and maybe even sit with you and who knows what might
transpire? Well, I know what would transpire: a lot of yakking.

Hollister0221's avatar

Fluthe the question. Get it started

wildflower's avatar

Fluther merchandise….....(oh hang on, maybe that should be in the ‘what would you improve’ thread)

Hollister0221's avatar

I think youvvuys are getting somewhere

Hollister0221's avatar

I mean hey. If we going to be a social network. Let’s do it in style

nikipedia's avatar

I would be down for a San Francisco get together, especially if it involved drinking.

Zack_In_Black's avatar

@Hollister: Matchbox 20’s better than Counting Crows.

peedub's avatar

@nik-I second you on both accounts

sleuth9216's avatar

@zack, disturbed beats everyone by far

peedub's avatar

Sorry sleuth but Slayer destroys disturbed.

sleuth9216's avatar

I beg to differ
