What is the first decade of the current millennium called?

I think of them as the aughts.

They’re referred to as the aughts, but I can’t stand that term. Don’t know what else to call it, though.

“It’s the noughties. Eighties, Nineties, Noughties.”

In the UK we seem to settle on the “Noughties”.

Noughties sound better than Aughts. Thanks for your inputs guys. :)

But then, what would we call the second decade of the current millennium?

I personally call it “The Lost Decade”. Good riddance!
