The 1959 recording of The Skyliners hit song, “Since I Don’t Have You” has a remake by Guns and Roses. I cannot decide if I like the remake. I realize that three generations of music has passed, since the original was recorded in 1959. This is a beautiful slow dance song but, Guns and Roses has taken the beauty out of the song and made it into a new generation Doo Wop song with screams and sounds never intended in the original version. Question: To you, does it appear that Guns and Roses has slaughtered a beautiful song or am I just over the hill?
