Is it still true that, "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas."?

Asked by ETpro (34605points) May 28th, 2011

That was the claim, and perhaps it was true before every cell phone had a video recorder built in. Should the saying get an update for today’s world? Perhaps, “What happens in Vegas ends up on YouTube?” If not that, what’s your suggestion? If the YouTube quip seems to fit, can you post link to a Vegas embarrassment that ended up on YouTube or somewhere similar?

But it’s not just Vegas anymore! My family went to Old Orchard Beach, Maine in late October and will probably never be able to show our faces there again.

STDs don’t. Though I’m going to agree cuz nothing I’ve done has shown up anywhere

@TheIntern55 Ha! I can imagine that the good folks in Old Orchard Beach, Maine aren’t as broadminded as those in Vegas who have seen it all and then some.

@King_Pariah & @noelleptc Good points. There definitely are things that come home with you, even if they never get on YouTube.

I think that they changed that recently, though I don’t remember what they ended up with.

@Nullo I wonder if all the hits on “IWhatever happens in Vegas ends up on YouTube” had anything to do with the change. :-)
