What is the book with a scorpion on the cover?

All I remember is that the cover was red and it had a scorpion on it.
There were things in the book that had to do with opium and poppy seeds.

Anyone know what I’m talking about?

It’s called The House of the Scorpion, it’s by Nancy Farmer.

I’m actually reading it right now for about the ninth time, it’s my favorite book in the world and I’d recommend it to anyone! :-)
