What is the waiting time for public subsidized housing for an army reserve?

Asked by radcliff (253points) June 10th, 2011

I think if you are in the military you can apply for public subsidized housing and it doesnt take as long to get it as a non military personal takes. Is there any truth to this?

The only subsidizer that I have ever heard about is for active military on or near a military base. I have lived in base housing a couple time (it’s not so great) and the only people eligible to apply were married military, often their rank had to be at least NCO.

There may be some local housing, where you live but it certainly isn’t military based although active duty personnel may get to the head of the line. You would have to go to each subsidized unit to find if you can apply.
