Do any of you have a Minecraft server that I can build on?
I found Minecraft about a week ago, bought it, and I love it. I’ve been trying to set up a server and so far it seems successful, but I really like building with other people on their servers and creating towns and whatnot. Does anyone have one that they can share with me?
Bonus question: Is it possible to create multiplayer servers on peaceful mode? Call me a wimp, but I prefer to play on peaceful so I can focus more on the building and mining aspects. However, when I created my server and tested it, even though I had it set to peaceful, hostile mobs appeared. I hate skeletons. Is this just a Beta bug or am I doing something wrong?
PS: I’d like to build with you guys. I live in Eastern Standard time, in case I share a timezone with anyone.

Yes, Fluther has one that is somewhat active. There are monsters, though, but plenty of places to stay until you get yourself a house.
I think we have about 4 flutherites + 3 or 4 real life friends of flutherites if you’re interested. Tell me if/when you get on and I can show you around if you want.
Time zones are wonky, as I’m pacific and most other people on there are either GMT +8 or +9, but there’s people on there pretty often.

Make sure you told him your name case-sensitive, as the server is more than a little testy about that.
oh no. I was, er, exploring someone’s house and a creeper found me and blew it up. Do you guys have a mine? Oh, and in that giant wooden skyscraper, can I take some of the plants growing in there? I felt the need to ask because I don’t want to be a thief… Oh, and I build an ugly wooden hut. I’ll fix it up.
I have a server, and we don’t grief each other, but it is not monster-free.
@jellyfish3232 We all seem to have our own separate mines, but yeah, me, thammuz, and a IRL friend have all built really elaborate ones. I’d just try and get one of your own, as some of ours have been pretty stripped of resources.
I’d be happy to lend you some stuff if you need it just to start off. Also, feel free to camp out in one of the little houses I’ve built near the big icy lake. They’re open to anyone who wants them.
