What's a good DSLR camera lens.

Ok, so i’m going to Singapore at the end of next month and want to buy a new lens for my Nikon DSLR. Are Lens’s and other tech stuff really cheaper there and what Lens would you recommend for Macro/Telephoto shooting under AU$700 (about US$650)

Guess it might depend on what you shoot.
In the old 35mm film days, I only needed two lenses. A 28mm for nature and landscapes and a 200mm for action and sports. Plus if you had a couple of extra bucks an 80 or 105mm for portraits.

well i’m mostly doing landscapes with a 55mm lens. although i would much prefer to have a lens with a higher zoom to capture landscapes easier or a lens so i can work on macro photography.

I bought a 55–200mm lens last weekend for about $300 USD. I like it a lot.

I shoot a variety of things and so far it has been useful in every occasion.
