[NSFW] Women what terms are acceptable to you to refer to you or your intimate anatomy when you are with an intimate partner?

Asked by wundayatta (58722points) June 17th, 2011

I’m sure there is an inexhaustible list of terms to refer to a woman’s “pussy.” I think that pussy may be one of the most acceptable ones. However other terms such as cunt or cocksucker, whore, or bitch as well as numerous others are available for use. Depending on context and who is using the term, you may like some of the terms or all of them or none of them, I suppose.

Some women might hate to be called “cunt” by one lover, yet find it acceptable by another. Other women would never want to called by that name or have their pussy referred to by that name under and circumstances, not even with Jesus.

So what is your preferred name for your intimate anatomy? What names are you willing (or excited) to use given the right context and partner? What are those contexts? Who is that partner?

What other words are you willing to have used? What words do you find exciting, but only when used in the privacy of your bedroom?

Why are these terms acceptable to you or not under the different circumstances? What experiences do you associate the different terms with?

Guys—have you ever been made aware that you have overstepped the bounds of what your lover finds acceptable? Did you pay attention and comply with that preference? Have you ever been asked to use words you are not comfortable using?

Vagina. Pussy. That’s pretty much it. I know, I’m boring.

I like it to be referred to as Sir Anthony Hopkins.

My last lover called it her kitty. A little less vulgar than pussy.

Vag or pussy, I’d be taken back if during sex he referred to it as my “cunt”. Thats weird.

Maybe this is odd, but I don’t care.

Vag is short for my girlfriend’s name :-)
Really.

The wife likes to call it her tuppence I reckon that’s because she likes the “money shot!”
As for me going too far, if I ever utter the word cunt I get a firm kick in the nuts.

The really unacceptable ones to refer to me as:
Anything around the “mama” catagory, like “sexy mama”.
Ho
Cum guzzler, cum dumpster, cum bag…
Dick warmer
Cock sucker
Anything where it’s not really part of our natural language outside of porn

The unacceptable ones for my gentials:
Vag (it sounds like it’s been mutiliated in the same way the spelling has! And that goes for “peen” too…)
Va-jay-jay
Cooter
Really, any word that’s been created specifically so that you can refer to it around children and/or bypass FCC rules. It’s not some cutsie thing with bows on it, it’s supposed to get you hot! It’s supposed to get me hot!
Vagina and vulva are really only for the doctor’s office (and Fluther…).

The rest I tend to take case by case. I have no problem with cunt, pussy, or twat, and use them myself regularly.

Am I the only one who doesn’t like the term pussy?

BeckyKytty's avatar

A gal pal of mine calls hers Va-jay-jay.
I think that is so cute, and so does she.
During sex, anything lacking politeness is mandatory, but cunt will never do.

MyNewtBoobs's avatar

@Mariah Yes. Why don’t you like it?

Mariah's avatar

@MyNewtBoobs I actually thought it was universally thought of as kind of an insulting word until I saw this post and that nobody had an issue with it. Maybe I just need to readjust my view.

MyNewtBoobs's avatar

@Mariah It is in the sense that there’s a lot of pressure put on men to be men, and women to be not women, so by being the thing that makes women women, you’re being bad – but I’m not sure saying “you’re such a pussy” is really any more derogatory to women than saying “You’re such a little girl” or “stop being such a nancy-boy”. Plus, even “woman” and “female” have man and male in them, and “vagina” is literally “sheath” in Latin, and “gal” was originally a put-down for an “uppity” black woman, so finding words to refer to women and their genitals that isn’t steeped in some kind of derogatory history is really, really hard. I like pussy because I reject the notion that being a woman is a bad thing, and the word only is derogatory if being a woman and her genitals is, in fact, a bad thing. But that’s just my take, don’t change your view just for me!

I like using “Ladybits” when talking with my friends about down-unda. I also use twat, but more when I’m complaining. As for with guys—jury’s back out on that one.

@Mariah I don’t like the term pussy either.

—@MyNewtBoobs I think calling someone a “pussy”, in the derogatory way you referred to is similar to calling some a “dick” or a “prick”; of course the meanings are different. It’s interesting that “pussy” seems to refer to lack of courage or assertiveness, where “dick” or “prick” seem to be synonymous with “ass-hole”.
