Where does the inspiration for your questions come from?

Asked by Blondesjon (33994points) June 23rd, 2011

I get it. Some of you have legitimate queries that you would like a helpful answer to.

But . . .

I also know that Fluther is just as social a site as Facebook or Twitter. The only difference is the set of rules that govern how members interact. We are required to inquire before we interact.

So . . .

What is the inspiration for the numerous questions many of you post each day? What keeps you sitting there at the keyboard trying to figure out something polled/clever/sad/funny/popular/trolly/stupid that will draw others in to your thread? Do some of you really have a need for more than three a day? Really?

Some days I need more than 3; some days I don’t need any. Perhaps it should be a weekly quota instead of daily.

Some of my questions come from my life. Some come from research Some are spun off of other questions or comments.

They’re often the things I wonder about when I’m trying to fall asleep at night.

The differences in personalities and where they stem from is a motivational factor. I find individuality fascinating, especially when it is cultural based.

Sometimes like @Seelix they’re things I wonder about. Mostly I write up my life’s current conundrums. It’s interesting to read a variety of opinions, tips and a perspective balance/counter-balance.

Mine are all questions I have that my super smart 15 yr. old doesn’t have the answer to.

It’s not so much about inspiration than it is about curiosity.
I’m a very curious and intuitive person, so, that’s why I want to ask so many questions.
And yes, I sometimes do need to ask more then 3 questions a day, but that’s pretty rare.

I think 3 a day is pushing it. At least mix em up a bit and get one in each category.

Usually ideas just pop up randomly in my head and I think, “Wow, that’d be an awesome Fluther question!”

They are usually things I want an answer to or I want your opinion to be recorded in your permanent file ;)

It’s something I’ve read that I can’t discuss with my immediate family due to their lack of interest and general feelings of apathy towards my boundless curiosity.
They’ve had a lifetime of my boundless curiosity.

Most likely inspiration for my questions come from the same place where the inspiration of this question came from.

As part of my master plan, I’ve been planting ideas into people’s heads with subliminal messaging. Every word is meticulously chosen, then every phrase is carefully mapped out by by Soviet scientists.

Hahaha, inspiration? This shit’s just random crap asked for the sheer hell of it.
Throw in the occasional giggle &.........ta-da.

Might be as I am writing and I have a question, might be while I am driving and some question comes into my head. I don’t tend to ask a lot of questions on Fluther though. Often someone has already had the thought and asked the question.

MyNewtBoobs's avatar

Usually, if I have more than 3 questions, it’s because of something school-related and will be in general.

Hypocrisy_Central's avatar

I guess the main reason for my questions or the inspirations thereof, is to see how logical or how far I can really challenge people to think outside-the-box, often disappointed, to watch people get so emotional of questions while side stepping or missing the real issue. Also betting myself how many will actually answer, and how many will answer not because they like the question or the response but because the question or response pissed them off.

I usually ask stuff that requires people to think about their opinion or their personal taste on things. Sometimes, information and recommendations. I don’t know what inspires any of that, to me, what drives most of my questions is either curiosity or wanting some doors opened. I’m pretty closed minded and old school in my tastes and views; it takes a lot for me to venture into the unknown. But Fluther is a good place to get some directions at.

Directions that I can trust.

Rereading my post, it would make an awesome cereal commercial.

Fluthers; a part of this essential breakfast. Make each day a new one.

many times it is from dreams.
Sometimes from hearing something and it makes me wonder.
The rest is just odd shit.

@blueiiznh Odd shit rocks.

@Symbeline . . . Wasn’t Odd Shit Rocks David Bowie’s 5th studio album?

Usually from other questions (online and IRL). My mind tends to tangent. Results in more questions than answers.

Lots of questions, but they’re not always appropriate for Fluther. I don’t mean NSFW. Just best explored another route. Or privately contemplated on my own.
