Yes. A day without googling something is like a day without sunshine. And one of the reasons why I lurve fluther.

incendiary_dan's avatar

Yep. I’ve been known to read up to a few non-fiction books a week due to this. I constantly watch educational videos at work.

lillycoyote's avatar

Yes, I am blessed or cursed with a lot of curiosity and crave for, search for and find more knowledge every day. The problem is I can’t keep it all in my head. Sad for me.

I feel like the robot, Johnny 5, from Short Circuit: I . . . . neeed . . . . input . . . .

I am constantly devouring any factoids around which I can wrap my brain. However, one reaches an age when the brain cell holding the fact that “Sgt. Boston Corbett shot John Wilkes Booth between the boards of a tobacco barn” might better be used to hold the fact that “Trash Day is Thursday.”

Yes. Hence the large amounts of books everywhere, and the 20 wikipedia tabs open on one browser.

Nope…I got plenty! Too much in fact. I would love a lobotomy right about now as I have quite a few things I wish I didn’t know.

Hibernate's avatar

I do want to know more and to learn new things all the time but I’m not that desperate.

I can always rediscover old things I knew or see them in another perspective.

Knowledge?
No.

Enlightenment?
Yes.

Your_Majesty's avatar

Definitely. But sometimes my laziness/carelessness is bigger than my curiosity.

blueiiznh's avatar

always. that is what a polymath does.

Ajulutsikael's avatar

Yes. I love to learn and am constantly learning things outside of my comfort zone. Except math. I hate math so much it actually gives me panic attacks and causes me to blank.

MilkyWay's avatar

Yes, my brain is a sponge. I need to learn wherever I go.

Linda_Owl's avatar

Yes, I constantly seek to know more, learn more, to understand why things happen, to look for solutions. Mine is a constant search for wisdom.

I may have reached the age of dynamic equilibrium—every day I forget as much old stuff as I learn new stuff. I just hope it doesn’t become negative…

bkcunningham's avatar

@Kayak8 and @lillycoyote, I have a combination of your memories. Trash day is Monday and Thrusday. Or is it Tuesday and Friday? Nope, I know Monday for sure. So, logically, it would be Thursday next. Right?

Coloma's avatar

I’ve always been a knowledge hound, but, I’m in the middle zone these days with @SABOTEUR

Knowing ‘stuff’ is fun, amusing, entertaining for the mind and feeds the ego, which isn’t a bad thing, but, it is in the spaciousness of being, outside of mind, where one truly exists. ;-)

bkcunningham's avatar

You might want to put down the pipe every once in a while sista’ ;)

Coloma's avatar

@bkcunningham@bkcunningham
No pipe needed for just basking in your being. :-)

flutherother's avatar

I’m not desperate but I am always curious and the Internet is a godsend. I find something fascinating every day. I found these lectures today, Fabulous stuff!

NorbertFish4's avatar

Yes
I constantly feel like i want to know an learn more about prettymuch everything

ratboy's avatar

Of course not. If I don’t know it, it ain’t knowledge.

fundevogel's avatar

I am an information junkie. It’s a disease. Seriously.

Why in helvete is the wikipedia page for taraxacum in my internet history?

lillycoyote's avatar

@bkcunningham I have the same problem as you. What confuses it, I think, is that trash days are Tuesday and Friday but the trash needs to be put out, taken to the curb, Monday and Thursday nights; they pick it up so early, so sometimes I find myself thinking that trash days are Monday and Thursday so I put it out Sunday and Wednesday! OMG! The pathetic, tragic thing is that I suspect the vast majority of people have no trouble remembering when trash days are or when it needs to be put out.

My theory @bkcunningham? Our minds are just so full of loftier, more noble and more complex, more highly advanced and more nuanced thoughts. How can we be expected to remember things as mundane and ordinary and simple as trash days? :-)

GracieT's avatar

Yes! That’s one of the reasons that I love to read as much as I do.

incendiary_dan's avatar

@fundevogel Because it’s a fascinating and useful plant?

Earthgirl's avatar

Yes. I have a great deal of curiosity. I have to say that most of the things I am interested in have a human angle, that is, they are related to human history and culture. What does it mean to be human? What are we here for? How the hell did we get here anyways?!!

fundevogel's avatar

@incendiary_dan I suppose it is. It is one of my favorite weeds.

blueiiznh's avatar

Still craving. The day I stop, put me away!

Akua's avatar

Yes. I love learning, knowledge, information. I need it. I will read 3 or four books at a time. I think being a geek is sexy! The library is my favorite place and the smell of books makes me happy. If I’m broke I will cut back on food before I let my internet go!

GracieT's avatar

I love the feel., smell, and basic idea of print books. Often I will secure a sample on my iPad or iPhone, and if I like the book enough I will purchase it.
