What would be suitable to wear to a film premiere?

Asked by saraaaaaa (2317points) June 29th, 2011

A fairly superficial question, but something I feel a little lost about..

So I am going to the Cars 2 premiere in London, it’s a daytime showing and I have no idea what to wear. I have my own sense of style but I don’t follow fashion and obviously will not be turning up in some Gucci evening gown or whatever. I want something that suits my figure so I don’t look like too much of an idiot I’m a UK size 12 and fairly busty

I am going with a friend who I would like to impress also :S

Any suggestions or links would be greatly appreciated!

That sounds like a blast! Have fun!

And for the record, it’s summer and a day time premiere for a lighthearted children’s movie – no one will be wearing a gown.

Wear something bright, knee length with a nice pair of heels. Add on some diamond earrings and a bracelet and I imagine you’ll be fine. No one is going to be screaming your name or printing your picture, you’re free to fuck up.

But if you keep it simple, and don’t wear anything too loose you’ll look great. You’re a US size 8. You’ve probably got curves – work them. :)

Here you can see some pictures of women at the Up premiere – summer dresses, still a bit ritzy for the most part.

I would dress as if I were going to a summer garden party. A nice, summery dress that’s not of too heavy of a fabric or too frilly, heels. No hat, though, and not too much jewelry.

I’m thinking that you will probably want something that is tea length or a little bit shorter. Here are a few examples of what I think would look good.

This dress in red or yellow.

A dress with this cut (without the flowery beadwork, which makes it look too much like a bridesmaid dress) in eggplant purple.

Or this dress in jewel tone red.

Or this dress in red or fuschia

Or this dress (which is a little bit more daring).

Or this one in bright red or yellow.

Or this dress in red or eggplant purple.

Look at Images of what other people wear. Except for the celebrities, it looks like normal clothes.
