The only song of the camp one with the dodgy hair weave I ever liked was I’m Still Standing.

I can’t narrow it down to just one, so I’ll say Funeral for a Friend, Candle in the Wind, and Can You Feel the Love Tonight.

Love Song from Tumbleweed Connection.

There are probably a dozen tied for second.

Goodbye, Yellow Brick Road

Whatever Gets You Through The Night w/John Lennon is a very, very close second.

Yep, Candle in the wind is mine.
However, I must say, that EJ and Stevie Nicks are two that have so saturated the airwaves that I could probably go the rest of my life without ever hearing another of their songs.

If I tune into ‘Landslide’ one more time while I am driving I might go psycho! lol

zenvelo's avatar

@Coloma Are you saying Landslide will bring you down?

covers ears and waits for screams.

Can’t let the oppurtunity pass without comment. The 1997 version of Candle in the Wind sung at the funeral of Princess Di was utterly dreadful.
“Goodbye England’s rose”.......barf!

Yes! Gah! LOL

It is an absolute toss up between Levon and Funeral for a Friend (Love Lies Bleeding).

I don’t mean to be the fly in the oinment on this question, but Elton John’s voice makes me cringe! That being said, I kind of like “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” only because it seems less typical of his voice, without all of the twangy (fake southern US accent) affectations (which is super apparent on “I Guess that’s why they call it the Blues.”) I don’t mean to offend anyone, I’ve just never liked his voice.

I know this kind of makes me a pariah

Benny and the Jets. and it really isn’t b/c that was the #1 song the week I was born

I do like about 5 other ones. His songs are ones I really like or really don’t like; there isn’t an “it’s okay” category.

I despise Candle in the Wind.

“The Bitch is Back”.

@Kardamom While I do like Elton John, I agree with you that his voice sounds better on that song. It’s deeper and more natural.

SuperMouse's avatar

@Karadom why respond just to say you don’t like him? It makes no sense to me, especially if you think it is going to make you a pariah.

Kardamom's avatar

@SuperMouse I think you have it in for me for some reason. I just said that my favorite Elton John song is “Can You Feel the Love Tonight”. And I explained that I don’t particularly care for his voice, that’s all. I don’t hate Elton John. This is in social, and I think a little bit of levity is needed on your part. All of us talk about music and singers and movies etc. and we all joke around about stuff that we don’t like, in a humorous way. Like the movie Titanic, for example. Some people love it, and some people hate it. Lighten up.

I think the reason that you have it in for me, is because of my answer on this thread that you didn’t like. Sorry, if you didn’t like it, but it was accurate and I gave my opinion. I thought it was a little weird that you reacted the way you did, until I found out that you are sisters with the OP on that question, I guess that puts you in an awkward position.

SuperMouse's avatar

@kardamom, contrary to what you think, I don’t “have it in for you.” I just have trouble understanding the thought process that makes one jump
into a thread just to be
contrary. I’m all for humor, just
didn’t see it here.

As for the thread you linked, I
did there what I would do if
I felt any jelly, whether we are
related or not, was being as
incredibly misunderstood as
the OP in that thread was. I
also feel as though some of the responses, especially the ones you so ardently defended
were out of line. I disagree with jellies all the time – that doesn’t mean I harbor any ill will toward them. Lighten up.

Kardamom's avatar

Ok, if you say so. I didn’t mean any harm to anyone on this thread.

Hands down” Captain Fantastic” song and album! Elton John and Bernie Talplin’s talent in writing, playing and singing was just amazing. The absolute best Elton John lp! A true concept album…unbelievable melodies hovering over incredible lyrics. No one makes records like this anymore.
