What brands for film camera lenses can I use on my Vivitar 35mm?

Asked by Carly (4555points) July 8th, 2011

Right now I only have a 50mm lens which came with the body of the camera, and now I’m interested in getting something wider (between 18–28mm or maybe even a zoom), but I’m not sure what brands of lenses will fit my camera body.

When all else fails “Read the….. MANUAL” The cameras sold by Vivitar use Pentax K and OTHER brands of lens mounts.
So read the manual, it will tell you.

@Tropical_Willie I would, but I don’t have it. :(

There are different lens mounts for different Vivitar cameras, do a web search for the model that you have. Some companies place an owners manual on their web site it should tell you the type of mount.
