What are some effective, healthy, DIY detox cleanses?

Asked by adr (439points) July 19th, 2011

I already know about the Master Cleanse, but I was wondering if anyone knew of any other cleanses that can be prepared at home.

If you are not a believer in the detox concept as a whole, that’s fine, but you don’t need to tell me about it.

I usually have herbal tea. Whether it’s chamomile, green, jasmine, or fruit tea, they all seem to help with detoxing!

Usually I do Green Smoothies when I want to rest my digestive tract for a bit and/or boost my health.

You might also consider a portable sauna or an ionic water machine. You can use them together or separately, but together they greatly increase your ability to detox quickly. If you’re interested in either one, I can give you suggestions as to your options. PM me.

I do green smoothies. All day every day for a month to detox, longer if your a meat and dairy eater. After the month of smoothies I like to do a month of totally raw fruits and veggies. To keep cravings and withdrawl down and encourage detox, I brush my body twice daily and give myself an enema every morning. Colonics are good too but expensive. My way is inexpensive and no body is looking at your butt hole. I tried juicing but I find that the smoothies work better because of all the fiber that pushes out the waste and tones the GI tract and stomach. Also I don’t like to dump all that pulp in the garbage. What a waste! If you need some advice on great tasting green smoothies and some raw vegan dishes let me know I live for this shit.
