If _____________ were a singer, I'd buy their album?

Asked by _zen_ (7857points) July 28th, 2011

Uberbatman inspired this question.

Sometimes, you just love an actor/personality’s voice – you just wish they were a singer. In that case it was Morgan Freeman.

Me, I’d like a Willem Defoe album.

And no, I don’t know if Patrick Stewart would do it for me.

Probably Mia Kirshner. I feel like she would have a really good voice. A little bit mysterious and jazzy.

If my son were a singer, I’d buy his album. People love his voice but he’d rather do other stuff.

If Johnny Depp were a singer, I’d buy his album. Just because.

Long John Silver!

Maybe Lady Gaga, I denno.

@Symbeline What do you mean Lady Gaga? She is a singer and an amazing one. Craziness aside she has a beautiful voice.

Willem Defoe is a very, very sexy man. I would like his album too. I am not sure who I would choose though… I think maybe Liam Neeson…

Superman sings ballads from broadway…...awwww.

Why did you have to say Liam Neeson before me? Not the answer is already given.

Anthony Hopkins. I’m sure he has a soulful little voice.

James Earl Jones singing Deep River would likely melt my little heart . . .

Natalie Portman. I imagine her singing like Natalie Merchant.

Has Shatner done a spoken-word Christmas Album, yet?

rebbel's avatar

@reijinni I think that would sell millions :-)

Fran Drescher! But then, you probably knew I’d say that.

Even though I absolutely love her voice, for all of you that don’t, let me tell you that her voice has mellowed over the years and I think she would make an awesome jazz singer.

You can check out a clip of Frannie talking about her new show “Happily Divorced” that is based on her real life situation of dealing with life after her husband, Peter Marc Jacobson, who produced the Nanny and this new show, came out as being gay. I’m loving this new show. It’s very cute and funny and has a lot of potential. Here’s the clip Make sure you watch the little bit from the TV show and then the follow up part where Fran is talking (in her real voice) about the TV show.

God, I love this woman!

@Kayak8 Now that I’ve read everyone’s answers, wouldn’t it be great to hear a duet sung by James Earl Jones and Alan Rickman!?

All that yummy deep bass resonance would make me dissolve into a pool of Kardamom!

I can think of several:
Chris Colfer
Mark Harmon
Chloe Moretz
Eric Millegan

@lonelydragon You had me at Chris Colfer and Mark Harmon, swooon!

I want every actor/actress I like to be a good singer because I like musicians better than actors most of the time. I hit the jackpot with John Barrowman because he does everything.

I want Natalie Portman and Christina Hendricks to be singers. I’ve wanted Natalie to be a singer since I saw my first Natalie Portman movie (Garden State) because I think it’s the only way I could love her more. Christina Hendricks would probably be the definition of perfection if she sang.

lonelydragon's avatar

@Kardamom They’re certainly swoon worthy. Here’s a clip of a Mark Harmon song for you:

Saddle My Dreams

Kardamom's avatar

@lonelydragon OMG! I had no idea that he could sing! He kind of sounds like John Denver. When was this song recorded???

lonelydragon's avatar

@Kardamom He sang it on season 3, episode 1 of 240 Robert, which ran from 1978–1981 (if you’re interested, you may be able to watch it on Netflix). I first discovered the song after reading that almost the entire cast of NCIS can sing and that Mark had done a song of his own in the past. Now I’m pining for a musical episode of NCIS. Not sure how they’d pull it off plotwise, but, hey, a gal can dream.

Kardamom's avatar

@lonelydragon I’ve never even heard of that show. I’m very insterested! I too would love the idea of a musical episode of NCIS. They did that once on Scrubs and I thought it was going to be stupid, but it was one of the best episodes ever. I’m getting all excited just thinking about it. : )
