What can I expect when I go skydiving?

Asked by mugum0 (6points) July 28th, 2011

I am considering going skydiving soon. This will be my first time, so I wanted to know what the experience is like from someone who has done it before. For example:

How scary was it right before you jumped?
How did the free-falling sensation feel?
Any advice?

Also, just how dangerous is it?

Your gonna feel lots of butterflies and nervous and excited but once you jump and get the feeling of free falling you’ll probably love it.
I don’t know how safe or not it is, but they make it as safe as they can because usually they don’t just push you out of the plane by yourself…you never go alone if you inexperienced. Have fun!
Tell me what it was like. If you’re ever on my side of the world (I’m not sure where you live) but you should try walking on the edge

I thought it would last longer. I tandem jumped at 10,000 feet twice. The free fall was great, the first time, I was afraid to move, I just kinda floated (it feels like you’re floating with wind blowing everywhere) there with my legs and arms out. The second time I wasn’t afraid and twirled around everywhere. The anticipation of jumping wasn’t as bad as I thought, but i really wanted to do it, so I wasn’t concentrating on fear as much.

Floating down with the chute wasn’t very fun compared to just spinning and twirling in the air, it was actually kind of boring.

I don’t know how dangerous it is, because I didn’t care and just did it (twice). I’m still alive obviously, and a lot of people do it.
