Women: Can you recommend an in-home effective exercise workout? (Details)

Asked by DarlingRhadamanthus (11273points) July 29th, 2011

I have been doing Pilates for five years, but I have gotten so used to doing the same workout that I don’t think it is effective anymore. (I use the Pilates Reformer, not the mat.)

I don’t go to gyms…so please don’t suggest that. I do enjoy working out at home and exercise every day. I am really disciplined about that. I’m not someone who buys a piece of exercise equipment and uses it as a coat rack.

I see dozens of offers for DVDs and exercise equipment of all sorts…but I wonder what really works and what does not work at all as I’d like to add something to the Pilates workout.

What has worked for you? What has been most effective piece of equipment/DVDs/routine etc. that you have used. I am looking especially for something that works well and won’t wreck my joints (so, no manic jumping up and down, please.) The key word is effective . In other words, you lost weight and inches by doing this workout and/or purchasing a piece of equipment to use at home. I would love to hear true Jelly testimonials as to what worked for them.

Thanks in advance!

PS I do recommend Pilates.
