What is an object/item/instrument that you feel one with?

Asked by rebbel (35549points) August 7th, 2011

When you see it/when you wear it/when you use it, you feel one with nature, with the world, with yourself.
An example could be: Your guitar…, once you grab it and play it, your surroundings cease to exist, you and the sound you make are one.
Or your running shoes: They are old, but comfortable, and when you use them to run, all your worries are gone for half an hour.
For me it is my pencil and measure stick, with it I feel totally me and 100% motivated and confident in my job/hobby.

My clarinet.

The first thing I think of is my car. I’m no hot-shot sporting driver, but I spend a lot of my day maneuvering my little Fit, to the extent that there’s no thought or calculation required. It has become an extension of my body; it responds as seamlessly to my intentions as do my limbs. I’m one big man/car for the duration of my commute.

My car. I actually missed it when I was on vacation, and when I got home. I started it and sat in it; I didn’t even have to go anywhere.

Oh yes of course my Meucci Gem Cue #228 black dot or red dot HiPro Meucci.

But none of them compare to Lola, second down on the Larry Hubbart no dot vintage collectables.

Rack em’ up @ucme.

My cell phone and my car. The former because well it’s normal in this day and age.

My car because it’s my first car, we’ve had some awesome times in it and it’s never caused me any trouble except this one time. But even then he stopped down hill and all it needed was some creative clutch/accelerator maneuvering.

@RealEyesRealizeRealLies “Game on!” All done with a 20 year old, £30, no frills shooting stick. It’s not what’s in ya hand, it’s what ya do with it!!

Yes I’m sure it is. The guys I won the Meucci’s from think so too. Would you like to add your broomstick to my collection?

ucme's avatar

Ahem, antique broomstick, if you please!! Swept many a dipshit….player off the floor.

As tempting as that sounds, i’m going to have to pass. I play only the real deal, not a fan of online games, golf included.

A pair of black, lug soled motorcycle styled high boots. No matter if I’m wearing them will pants or skirts, I feel I’m set for anything. Every few years I find a slightly different style to replace the worn out ones and get a little sad to see the old ones go. Lots of incredible memories are made in my boots.

Several knives, a wooden spatula and a trumpet.

I’ll take unlikely objects for 200, Alex

Using: my drawing pencil, my scissors, my well worn copy of Leaves of Grass
Seeing: my Buddha statue from China, and my old folk art carved walking stick. It looks a little African and it is very sinuous and twisty. Carved out with hollows and zigzaggy raised patterns.
Hearing: My music collection on random play
