Ear training app?

Asked by 28lorelei (2529points) August 8th, 2011

I have been looking for an app where you can have 4 or more random notes played simultaneously (not chord but random), and have it repeated as many times as necessary. Then when you answer, it tells you whether or not you are correct. I haven’t been able to find anything like this besides using chords, and this would be incredibly useful. Anyone seen something like this?

Have you looked at Auralia? I’m not sure it can do exactly what you want it to do, but the “chords” it plays at the highest levels of difficulty on my version are highly complex (though not random). Sibelius Software, which makes the program, is pretty good about answering questions. You might try asking them whether the newest version could handle your needs.

I have an older version, so my knowledge of the program’s limitations is a bit outdated.

There is an iPod/iPhone/iPad app called karajan that is exactly what you are looking for.
