Some people get distracted too easily, they find it hard to pay attention. This is the case with my father, he can’t listen to music whilst driving :-/

I love to listen to music while I work. It’s not allowed in the Macdonalds where I work though. All I have are the beeps of the kitchen machines.

We used to run workshops for adult learners and would play music during breaks and certain activities. One time, I turned it on while they were taking a test. The volume was low, there weren’t any lyrics. I thought it might help them relax. Several people asked if it could be turned off, as it was distracting them.

It depends. If I’ve to concentrate, I’ll avoid the tunes. If things are more relaxed, then I love to listen to music while I “work”.

Like @stardust, if I have to concentrate I need it to be tuneless. I get too involved in the music to be able to concentrate on what I need to do. Any other time though, bring on the tunes at work!

I don’t have an Ipod and I don’t think it’s appropriate to listen to music in my current job. I still love to listen to classical music while I’m doing something, sometimes.

Sure. I keep a small radio in the work truck so I can if it is appropriate to listen at work. Since I’m my own boss its usually appropriate but sometimes it’s good to leave it off if people are there talking. I work by myself 99% of the time so the quiet can sometimes be as loud.

I love music while I work, however I hate music at my work. We play this bullshit radio station that plays the same 10 horrible fucking songs all day. I swear if I hear about people being fireworks or catching grenades for other people many more times Ill kill someone. But thats ok, come 7 I can let go of my troubles with dilalah -_ -

No, I prefer the ambient sounds of the house. The quieter, the better.

It depends what I am doing. If I really have to concentrate on something, often no. Otherwise, yes. I like some background music or even just the TV.
