Do you have any experience with the Toyota Auris hybrid?

Asked by Mamradpivo (9665points) August 26th, 2011

I’m pretty sure I’m going to buy a Toyota Auris hybrid next week, and I’m feeling good about it. I’ve owned a Toyota before, and am looking for a hybrid.

Have you driven one, or do you own one? Do you have any stories to share?

For those who don’t know, the Auris is the smaller, European-market version of the Yaris with a hybrid engine that comes from the Prius.

They are pretty much the same as regular cars except when you start them it doesn’t seem like they are started because the engine doesn’t always turn over. You ride on impulse power for a while before the gas engine kicks in automatically. It’ll take you a day to get used to it.

I’ve been driving a Prius for 6 years. The only bad thing is the tires. Toyota provides terrible tires. After they wore out, I got much better Goodyear Aquatreads.
