Scientifically or genetically speaking, is it possible to gain "super/powers"?

I’ve watched many of Marvel’s movies and I’ve been wondering about this for quite a while. If DNA would ever be radiated and manipulated through the means of science to the extent that a human-being can posses extra powers or so?
