Why can't I open my own .wps files?

Asked by GD_Kimble (2285points) May 6th, 2008

Ok, here’s the new crisis: I’m trying to navigate around Microsoft Works 9, so my only document option is .wps. I was doing a little test, and trying to send a .wps document to myself. i was able to attach and send just find, but Works wouldn’t allow my to open the attachments I jsut sent to myself.. I tried in excite, yahoo, and gmail. All to no avail.

Does it give you an error message of any kind? What your saying should indeed work, if you attach it to an email and then re-download it and open it….

If you want, try sending a test file to a friend or someone with Works..if you can find one, then if it works with them, then you just might need to just re-install Works 9 or figure out the problem.

It’s easy…it happened to me once before! Do it like this…

When you click on the file from your email you are given 2 options… one is “open” the other is to “save.” Don’t choose “open” click on “save” instead, and save it to your desktop. Then – logoff from your email and go to your desktop. The file should be there. Click on the new file that you just saved and it should open up. I hope this Works!
