Ask her mother, or friends, if she has ever mentioned it. Maybe you might get some inside info and do it the way she dreamt it. Ps my wife proposed to me.

What does she like?
Do you think she’d like the idea of a wine and dine, and propose in the middle of the restaurant? Or would she find that Embarrassing?
Think about where you’d like to be.
Then think what should you say. Is se sappy? Or straight to the point?
Would she even want a proposal! How about a small discussion about it. Coming to a conclusion that you’re gonna get married is probably a nice way to finish a convo and you’ll know you both want it!

Wait until she’s complaining about something and then throw the question in there. They’re suckers for marriage proposals when they’re complaining.

I like whatthefluther’s answer, though a woman is much more likely to accept a marriage proposal if it is insincere. I always try to propose marriage with insincerity.
