Restoring a bad IMEI number?

Asked by livingchoice (553points) September 19th, 2011

I found a Iridium satellite phone and want to resell it. However when I checked it’s IMEI# it said that it might not be good. Is there any way to reset the IMEI# or get a new one issued to the phone?

Nope.

The phone you found was reported stolen (probably by its owner) and now the IMEI is bad. It’s useless.
