What is your favorite character theme music?

Asked by Imadethisupwithnoforethought (14682points) September 24th, 2011

Do you like the Rocky Theme, or perhaps Superman’s?

Is there a particular theme music that is associated with a character you love that always puts you in a good mood, or that you find particularly beautiful?

I have no good answer for this, I don’t have a favorite, so I’ll post the all time classics:

Spiderman

They don’t write ‘em like that anymore, do they?

This is actually pretty random and out of nowhere, and I’m not such a fan of anime at all. Of course, if Dragon Ball Z is one of your first animes, then that’s prolly pretty understandable.

Still though. I ended up getting into this show as a teen, and one character in it that really struck me (no pun intended lol) was Vegita and his awesome bell music.
I mean this guy’s always all pissed off and destroying everything and shit, but the music doesn’t really portray that. If it represents him, then it shows that there is more within his heart than rage. (which is proven later in the show, and then Dragon Ball GT which is, in my opinion, highly regrettable)
Back when I used to watch this crap, I always seemed like I could relate, even if I couldn’t go beyond the barriers that defined me then. You know, just like him, at least for a bit.
Sometimes I can still relate.

And that’s probably the crappiest thing I ever posted on here! :D (my words, not the music)

Also I denno what the person who put up this vid is talking about. This is the exact same version of Vegita’s theme I heard in the show.

@Symbeline Oh my Goooooood now I have to go watch Dragon Ball Z again.
I’m sure this barely counts, but The Force Theme is nothing short of spectacular. Other than that, Hedwig’s Theme makes me all nostalgic.

Indiana Jones.

Changed my mind. James Bond

Always appreciate listening to the Superman main theme once in a while. Exhilarating.
The Superman romantic theme is great as well. John William’s rising violin music is just breathtaking. When I’m in the mood for contemplating action, it’s Conan the Barbarian theme or Total Recall’s or Terminator’s and Rocky’s.

Some other heart stirring music imo, include the love theme in the movie Spartacus ( Kirk Douglas ) and my favorites, the music from The Odd Couple and Bladerunner’s love theme by Vangelis. Absolutely feel good for me.

@Joker94 You were a fan too?

filmfann's avatar

@Joker94 and @Symbeline I am a huge fan as well. All it takes for me to get my eyes to well up is to simply say “the boy who lived”.

Berserker's avatar

If that’s a DBZ reference, I must not be fan enough. XD

Joker94's avatar

@Symbeline Absolutely!
@filmfann I feel like rewatching all of those movies now..

@Joker94 Who was your favourite character? I’m pretty sure I don’t have to say who mine is lol.

Joker94's avatar

@Symbeline Probably Goku, at least for a little while. I ended up really liking Trunks when I got more into it.

Berserker's avatar

Goku. That sounds so alien. I always call him Kakarot, like Vegita does. And yeah, Trunks rocks. Always loved him.

That show was just so dang good. Favorite villain?

Berserker's avatar

I loved Cell. That guy was such a bitch. I actually love Frieza, he has a cool personality (no pun intended lawlz) and seemed so epic. But Cell wins for being the crueler villain, at least in my opinion.

And for some reason, I thought Raditz was really awesome. Fucker had style, and given a chance to last longer, he would have been a damn classic DBZ villain.

Ever watch any of the movies? I thought Broli was a cool villain, too.

Your villain?

Joker94's avatar

Probably a toss-up between cell and Frieza. The androids were also pretty sick, they just freaked me out.

I haven’t seen the movies in ages, but they used to air them all the friggin’ time! Now I’m bumming that they don’t anymore..

Berserker's avatar

Yeah I liked the Androids too. That super strong one (Android 16?) with the red mohawk was totally my favourite. It’s like, the others wanted him to fuck shit up and he was all like, screw that, I like birds. He rocked. :D

Berserker's avatar

Holy shit! Look at this pic of Vegita I found while looking for my new avatar.

That was totally edited out of the American version.

Joker94's avatar

@Symbeline That’s not as bad as the Yu-Gi-Oh invisible guns thing..
@Imadethisupwithnoforethought Ahh! You just reminded me that I am way, way behind on Dr. Who. I watched the first season of the new series and totally fell off the wagon :(

Joker94's avatar

@Imadethisupwithnoforethought Is it available online anywhere?

Berserker's avatar

@Joker94 Or the American version of La Pucelle Tactics where when people are having a smoke, the cigarette is edited out, but they still do the gesture of smoking lol.

Joker94's avatar

@Symbeline They used lollipops instead in some Americanized animes..

Berserker's avatar

Really…I noticed the amount of lollipops in anime, but never what it was actually implying…sneaky buggers.

I wonder what the fuck they use for a blowjob. XD

I love all of the music Murray Gold does for Doctor Who, as well as a few for Torchwood. (I particularly love Ballad of Ianto Jones, but I know I’m incredibly biased on that…)

Ace Rimmer’s Theme from Red Dwarf.
