Hair wise are you a bangs person, or not?

Asked by Hypocrisy_Central (26879points) September 29th, 2011

When it comes to hair, I notice some women can pull off bangs, others can’t and some can go both ways. Some who wear bangs if the bangs are the wispy and open it works, but if it is the solid thick bangs, it doesn’t work. Which are you, a bang person, no bangs, can go either way, and do you go solid or open when wearing bangs?

I love bangs. I find them very cute and playful but family + boyfriend say they don’t suit me.

Dunno, I guess i’m on the fringe with this.

I look better with bangs, but I don’t always have them. Mainly because they grow quickly, and I don’t get around to cutting them as often as I should. I go for ‘wispy’ bangs.

When I was younger I had bangs. Since my 30’s I generally do not wear bangs, except at times I have long bangs, sometimes at an angle, that are towards the side. Part of the reason I don’t get bangs anymore is not only fashion or style, but because I have lost so much of my hair, I feel bangs would take away hair from the rest of my head, if that makes sense? Most people with heavy bangs tend to have a lot of hair, but not always of course.

I had to look up what “bangs” were! No, I am not a “bangs” person. Have been, but not at the moment and I doubt I will be in the future.

@Bellatrix What are they called where you live? I never knew that was an American word.

A fringe. We would say “I have a fringe”.

@Bellatrix Oh, how funny. And, I was thinking @ucme‘s answer was so clever. Well, I still think it is.

The play on words was clearly intended, I mean, bangs!?! How very quaint ;¬}

Long bangs that I can tuck behind my ear.

I had a fringe (as we call bangs) for years and then one day, a couple of years ago, I decided to grow them out. I like how I look both with and without a fringe but not having one is much easier!

I had side-swept bangs that were always in my face for a couple of years.

The solid, thick bangs were forced upon me by my mum as a child in the early 90’s. Won’t do them!

It depends on what style glasses I wear whether they look good :)

Nope, pretty much the jarhead look. Why is it called “bangs” anyway? Is it plural? If you have that style and it’s in one place on your head, why not call it a bang? Is it a noun or a verb?

Bangs…it makes no sense.

Bangs are great, on other people. They often look cool. But I hate them on myself. I prefer my hair parted in the middle and what would be bangs is as long as the rest of my hair. I did the mistake of cutting them not long ago, and it was annoying as hell as they were growing back haha. And now my front hair won’t ever be as long as the rest of it, unless I equalize the rest. And I dun wanna.
One exception I’d like to try is the Betty Page style for bangs, but my hair is too thin for that. I’ll stick to the well dressed barbarian look. XD

Bangs…forever…

Um, from the looks of my avatar picture? No. Lol.

I know this question is two months old, but I want to answer!

I’ve had bangs for years… and am debating on whether I should grow them out or not. They’re slanted wispy bangs, and when they grow longer, I’d cut them again. But since my hair grows fast, cutting my bangs gets annoying. I’ve been told I look good with or without bangs, but better with bangs. humm hummm…

No, I don’t wear bangs.
