Would you get this tattooed on your skin ?

Asked by GabrielsLamb (6186points) October 7th, 2011

I watched a little bit of a random show last night that I had never noticed before called Russian Dolls. *Guys for you I suggest it, it’s a life lesson on gold diggers, and you get to watch hot chicks running around in real life situations.

But anyway… This one guy on the show got a tattoo
*His first, and only one that I could see mind you, on the center of an otherwise beautifully chiseled and clean back

The tattoo said; in the ugliest, bold-faced typewriter type I have ever seen…

“No, I won’t kill you but I will watch you die.”

Would you get that as your first and only tattoo?
*I think it’s a NERD Lyric?

*And I have about 10 tattoos so… I DO like them, I just thought that particular one was an odd choice.

I would definitely not get that tattoo, personally.

wundayatta's avatar

That’s a pretty sick tattoo. I’d stay away from a guy with that tattoo. I don’t care if it’s a joke or if it’s real. It goes without saying that I’d never get that tattoo. But then, I’d never get any tattoo.

boxer3's avatar

nope, can’t say I would.
I’ve also hung out with a few dudes who I later realized had
MOB tattoos ( money over bitches)
also not a fan of that…

hah. I mean don’t get me wrong I like Tupac too…..
but damn.

MRSHINYSHOES's avatar

Never. I don’t want to advertise myself that I’m a psycho!

Blackberry's avatar

Nope, but I won’t get any tattoos.

Nullo's avatar

Tattoos are generally a bad idea.

plethora's avatar

Tattoos are worse than a bad idea, they advertise that the person having them may very well be a bad idea also. I wouldn’t get this one or any other.

CWOTUS's avatar

I’d go for something more literary:

A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds… something of that ilk. Either way, there’s too much explaining to have to do, so I don’t have it, and I’m not getting it.

AshLeigh's avatar

I’d do it.
I also want “Made in China.”
and “I hate tattoos… But I do love irony.”
Haha.

”*Guys for you I suggest it, it’s a life lesson on gold diggers, and you get to watch hot chicks running around in real life situations.” – yes because it’s okay to objectify women if they’re ‘gold diggers’ or ‘hot’ and only guys (and obviously guys, ‘cause they’re all pigs, right?) would be interested in that part, the rest of the people are just watching for the intellectual dialogue. The show is crap, don’t watch it. Oh and no to your question

Berserker's avatar

No. My tattoo is gonna be an owl, if I ever get one. If that’s what that guy wanted, then okay, to each his own. But not me.

GabrielsLamb's avatar

@Simone_De_Beauvoir That’s why I included the video Simone… I don’t “Objectify women.” Sorry… I call it like I see it, and those women are out specifically for the bankroll and they are NOT too shy to say it. They say it about THEMSELVES unabashedly so.

Not my idea, I was just watching listening and observing. *They are hot too… Why is THAT a bad thing? Look at them.

By definition that is a Gold Digger. A hot woman who wants a man primarily for what he can afford to give her. That’s basically the entire premise of the show.

*It’s like a version of Jersey Shore in Brighton Beach Brooklyn. Ever been there…

I know where of I speak.

*Hey guys how do you make that Little font change? Using the caps for emphasis are starting to aggrevate me.

“She’s all about money.” I didn’t say it they say it themselves.

GabrielsLamb's avatar

@Coloma Yeah really… That’s a spooky tat, and really intense for a first and only tat None of my business, live and let live be seriously…

Simone_De_Beauvoir's avatar

@GabrielsLamb Are you under some impression that: a) what you are ‘calling like you see it’ is objective? and b) the negative things people call themselves is okay for you to call them? Like when white people whine about wanting to say nigger and say ‘they do it amongst themselves all the time?

GabrielsLamb's avatar

@Simone_De_Beauvoir Woah… Relax there dear that is COMPLETELY unnecessary and I am NOT doing this with you or anyone.

Have a nice night. I like it here, and I would like to keep it that way.

Sorry… Someone else is going to have to kill that bee in your bonnet it will NOT be me.

GabrielsLamb's avatar

I don’t engage that kind of talk… sorry I ain’t the one.

GabrielsLamb's avatar

Okay back to a tattoo I saw on a show the other night…

digitalimpression's avatar

I wouldn’t get the tattoo.. and after watching as much as I could physically bear of the video you linked to I am certain I will avoid this show as well.

GabrielsLamb's avatar

@digitalimpression Why? No racist dancing bears?

Berserker's avatar

@Ayesha Lol, I love how casual and direct that was. :D

Ayesha's avatar

Thank you Symbeline :)

Simone_De_Beauvoir's avatar

@GabrielsLamb I’m relaxed. You’ll have to try harder to ever get your bee into my bonnet. Man, I just cracked myself up with that one.

digitalimpression's avatar

@GabrielsLamb The show looks like a carbon copy of every “reality” show out there.

“And then Stacy said..” GASP – cut to commercial….

It’s just this sort of drivel that keeps me away from tv most nights.

dreamwolf's avatar

I get my tattoos for myself. I’m sure he got that for himself too. This is a very judgmental question why should we agree or disagree to begin with?

XOIIO's avatar

What would you tatoo it on aside from skin??

GabrielsLamb's avatar

@Dreamwolf For the sake of curiosity, conversation, as opinions based on what things everyone does everyday…Making observations of the things people do You know, like when people put themselves on television and actually ASK to be watched so that people CAN talk abotu them?

Cheese and Rice! what did everyone make their coffee with rusty nails this morning?

@Simone_De_Beauvoir I only and ever TRY… when it is worth the bother, when someone wants for it to be worth the bother, when it actually accomplishes something meaningful. Teaches, learns, shares, or shows… I have no need for that leading the crowd type of garbage.

I can see you have preconcieved intent, and that’s fine, it’s your day dear… But respectfully I refuse to argue with that, I am not an idiot, and I have no need to prove myself, my life my choices my mistakes or especially my words… to you or anyone. When you pay my bills we’ll talk about how much I care to adopt anyone elses opinion of me.

I said what I did and I would say it again, and I just don’t tend to worry too much about it. That’s why I don’t have anxiety because I don’t worry about what other people are going to attempt to read into every little thing I say for the sake of arguments and nonsence.

It is a TELEVISION SHOW, it is what it is… I didn’t write it, it’s a fact, it exists, they enjoy their lives, nobody is “Judging” them as anything other than what they presented themselves as, nobody is abusing them, hurting them, or in any way taking advantage of them.

Actually, they are beautiful, smart women…They put themselves into the public eye… because they live for this kind of conversation on their behalf.

Some people ASK to have a spot light shone onto everything they do… Some others have it intentionally forced on them against their will.

But you know?

rooeytoo's avatar

@AshLeigh – I love that, made in china! I always wanted to get teeth marks tattooed on my butt just for fun! I never did though and I think at my age now, it is probably a good thing, heheh!

dreamwolf's avatar

@GabrielsLamb haha sorry i didnt mean it to be offensive. i understand your question may had good intentions, but really think about what youre asking even from a curiosity standpoint. what kind of reactions do you think will be overwhelming? what would be acceptable? i feel its a personal attack on his choice of a tat (which may be odd and weird to people who dont believe in tattoos). i think im just the defending the guy def. not attacking you, but you did come at it with a very biased opinion :) when you stated how ugly you thought his tattoo was.

Nullo's avatar

@dreamwolf One must keep Society in check somehow.

dreamwolf's avatar

@Nullo Yes I’m still learning that I should just probably answer the question instead of adding my observations/feelings.

GabrielsLamb's avatar

@dreamwolf All I can say to that is “Touche” But you know… Had you done that and JUST answered the question, the “Touche” wouldn’t have been necessary.

I don’t need people to teach me lessons because they didn’t like the way I spoke to someone else.

Everybody knows everything is bullshit… Let’s not pretend it isn’t. I find it droll.

“This is a very judgmental question.” Is a very finite statement. There isn’t very far to go from an outright accusation. That IS considered “offensive” yes… But you didn’t offend me… you just wanted to.

Sorry I couldn’t oblidge.

rebbel's avatar

It doesn’t even make sense: ”but I will watch you die.”.
Or he is showing his back to the person that is about to die, meaning he can’t watch the process, or he will watch the person die, meaning he is facing that person who then won’t be able to read the tattoo on his back.
He should have tattooed it on his forehead.

dreamwolf's avatar

@GabrielsLamb Contrary to your belief, I wasn’t intending to offend you. If you thought so, well I guess that’s your problem. Happy Fluthering :)

GabrielsLamb's avatar

@dreamwolf You have a strange way of showing it but it’s all good, I don’t care really if you were or if you weren’t. As you assumed much of my question, I assumed much of you answer.

That’s life in the big ocean kiddo… Honestly, it really doesn’t matter much.

If I were that sensitive that I might worry about what you thought that I would allow it to actually bother me, I might need to reavaluate my entire perception of life, and I really just don’t have that sort of time baby doll.

Peace… Nobody meant any harm then why are we still going on about it when really… It doesn’t matter. I have 10 tattoos, and I will be getting more, probably something stupid to someone else. Big whoop…

GabrielsLamb's avatar

@dreamwolf And for the record… I never said “his tattoo is ugly.” I said to ME, he picked an ugly font, in other words MY OPINION, and I honestly don’t know how I feel about the phrase itself… My concern was more along the lines of the severity of that particualr phrase as being very finite once it becomes inked on your skin… For a FIRST tattoo, and an only tattoo in such a large space, I thought it was extreme. But that’s all really… You provided the rest.

Uhhh, Thanks I guess?

And then again, on that note, I don’t care really… Neither does he I’m certain of it.
I don’t think he will be quite as concerned about it as you are.

It was just a topic of discussion, not an inquisition but… you know. Such is life.

Jelly love to you! No big deal my dear, it is what it is.

GabrielsLamb's avatar

@rebbel I was thinking that same thing too… Which is why I questioned it. It would better serve the point on the chest I think? *Maybe not the forehead realistically, but that’s funny.

I wish your answer had come along JUST a bit earlier.

GabrielsLamb's avatar

@AshLeigh I agree totally… “Made in China.” Is an AWESOME idea!

Nullo's avatar

I am opposed to tattoos on general principle, but I wouldn’t recommend “No, I won’t kill you but I will watch you die.” on anything, skin, shirt, or email sig. It speaks of bitterness and anger.
