How do I do really sexy false eyelashes?

I’m going to buy a pair of the classic black falsies at the drug store. I already have a pair of green ones I got for Halloween. When I looked up applying them it said I need to use the eyelash curler on my own real lashes before I apply them. Well the eyelash curler I have isn’t that great and I don’t have $30 bucks to spend on getting a new one. Can I apply the falsies without curling my lashes before? I do have the black volumizing lash blast mascara from maybelline.Also how do I take them off without ripping off any of my real lashes?
